Croswell-Lexington routs Algonac behind a good QB game

Friday night high school football results in the Blue Water area.

Croswell-Lexington 58, Algonac 6

Jake Townsend completed 13 of 19 passes for 207 yards and three touchdowns and added 37 rushing yards and a score in the rout of the Algonac Pioneers (1-6, 0-6 BWAC).

Saige Slanec caught three passes for 50 yards and two touchdowns, while Logan Salecki caught three receptions for 62 yards.

The Pioneers (6-1, 6-0 BWAC) also scored two special teams, Nolan Moore returning a kickoff for a touchdown and Gavin Espinoza scoring on a punt return.

Offensive lineman Matt Lyons also added a rushing touchdown.

North Branch 21, Richmond 14

Richmond led 21-14 midway through the third quarter, but the Broncos rallied to claim the BWAC victory on Friday.

Denny Salagan led the Blue Devils (4-3, 3-3 BWAC) with 75 rushing yards and two runs. Anthony Bonnetti completed 11 of 24 passes for 159 yards and rushed for 34 yards, while Kevin McKiernan had three receptions for 114 yards.

Warren Fitzgerald 48, Marysville 6

Noah LaValley scored Marysville’s lone touchdown in Friday night’s loss to Warren Fitzgerald. With the TD rushed, LaValley was 3 of 7 passes for 31 yards, with Mitchell Donaldson, Kyle Thomas and Andrew Schweihofer each catching an assist.

Tyler McKenney led the rushing attack with 96 yards on 23 carries.

Defensively, Peyton Laubert recovered two fumbles and Alex Case added one. Jonathan Todd was fired and Avery Jankowski managed a pass break for the Vikings (3-4, 2-3 MAC Silver).

Sandusky 52, brown town 14

Sandusky racked up 412 offensive yards to clinch the victory over Brown City. Martin Tovar led the Redskins (2-5, 2-3 GTC East) with 229 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Tyler Franzel also scored two touchdowns on 56 rushing yards.

Tovar also added an interception on defense.

For Brown City (1-6, 1-4 GTC East), Easton Jager ran for 55 yards and a touchdown and Lukas Primeau added 51 rushing yards. Ethan Worrell had 41 passing yards, Kyle Affer had 18 receiving yards and Callen Hagey had 14 yards.

Jager led Brown City with eight tackles.

Marlette 42, Caro 7

Travis Fuller scored four total touchdowns (three on the ground, one on reception) in Marlette’s victory on Friday. Fuller finished with 81 rushing yards and 64 receiving yards.

Collin Miller and Jason Tenbusch also added running scores for the Red Raiders (5-2, 4-1 GTC East). Tenbusch also threw for 121 yards and the passing score.

Brenden Whiteside led the defense with 6.5 tackles and Grant Roberson also had an interception.
