Justyn Ross is officially cleared, but no return to the squad

Clemson’s football team will get an extra boost for the 2021 season in the form of the return of the WR Justyn ross.

Clemson football coach Dabo Swinney confirmed to media Friday afternoon that Ross had been officially cleared to resume his football activities, but he is not in training at this time.

Why? Ross is currently in the COVID protocol.

Clemson’s football is a game-changer with Justyn Ross and I hope he’ll be back soon

There is no doubt that the return of Justyn Ross will make a major difference for the Tigers this coming season. That being said, unfortunately, he will be missing this week in the COVID protocol.

The key for Clemson will be to create chemistry and it all starts with the ability for players to participate in training. Ross has without a doubt one of the best skill sets in the country and the hope for the Tigers is that he is able to get back to the training ground 100% as soon as possible. He won’t be able to return until next Friday, according to Swinney, which means he will miss the first scrum.

Swinney spoke about how the Tigers are preparing Ross to potentially play the slot machine earlier this spring and the truth is he could be absolutely dangerous from there. Ross has too much athleticism to be covered by a linebacker or a defenseman, and he has too much physique to be covered by an inbound cornerback or a nickel.

It’s going to be interesting to watch and see how he progresses in this preseason when he officially returns to the training ground.

This is a major football victory for Clemson and Justyn Ross. There were legitimate doubts for a long time – and it was up in the air for quite a while – whether or not he could play again.

Now he’s back and he has the opportunity to prove he’s still one of the best in the country.
