“With a home opener in week zero against a strong Mountain West Conference opponent at the University of Nevada, I couldn’t imagine a better time to revitalize this promotion,” Moccia commented. “Coach Kill, his team and our student-athletes have worked extremely hard to lay the groundwork for our football program which will begin with this game and we must do everything we can as a department and community to fill the stadium. In 2015 our business community stepped up and bought a huge number of tickets which our sports department ensured were used by service clubs, elementary school children and many other people who had never been to an Aggie football game. of Aggie Nation to accept this challenge and purchase tickets to this game to help us reach our goal. This is critical to our success and we need their help.

“I’m so excited to play our home opener here against Nevada and our kids are going to feed off of our home crowd,” Kill said. “We have to sell this thing, we have to make it exciting and loud. It will have an effect [Nevada] with what they do offensively. We need you here and can’t wait to show you what we have.”

With the season kicking off on August 27, the Nevada contest will be the first of six home games throughout the 2022 season for the Aggies. It’s the first time since 2013 that the Aggies will play six games at Aggie Memorial Stadium. The remaining roster will include Hawai’i (September 24), Florida International (October 1), New Mexico (October 15), San Jose State (October 22 Homecoming) and Lamar (November 12). To purchase season tickets, call the Pan Am Box Office at 575-646-1420.

As Kill enters his first season as head coach of NM State, he is the eighth most awarded active football coach in the FBS ranks. With 158 career wins, the four-time Hall of Famer and former Big Ten Coach of the Year trails only Nick Saban (Alabama), Mack Brown (North Carolina), Brian Kelly (LSU), Kirk Ferentz ( Iowa), Willie Fritz (Tulane), Chris Creighton (Eastern Michigan) and Terry Bowden (Louisiana – Monroe).
