Recap the highlights of the 2022 season with the Gymbacks in Razorback Review, following with notable floor exercise stats.

39 Straight meets 49+
Heading into head coach Jordyn Wieber’s third season in 2022, the Gymbacks had a 32-of-49 scoring streak on the ground, which was the third-longest active streak in the nation. Arkansas extended it seven more meetings to 39, beating Alabama and moving into the second-longest active position. The Hogs were ranked ninth on rush in the regular season and placed in the top-15 in five out of seven weeks.

7 gymnasts with 9.9+ season highs
Nine Gymbacks have competed in floor training on the 2022 roster, and seven of those gymnasts have posted season highs of 9.9 or higher. Of the gymnasts who have made at least three floor appearances, none have had a season high below 9.875. The Arkansas rookies showed great promise and confidence early on, and each of the Hogs’ three freshmen will carry career highs of over 9.9 in their sophomore years. It’s the first time since 2004 that three freshman Gymbacks have set highs of 9.9 or higher on floor in a season.

New regional low record
Arkansas has now appeared in 18 consecutive NCAA Regional Championships and Jordyn Wieber has appeared in two of two possible Regional Finals during his tenure as head coach. In 2022, the Gymbacks have elevated their playoff performance on the floor on back-to-back nights. In the regional semifinal in Norman, Okla., the Hogs used a new regional record 49.375 running runs in the third rotation to help propel the team to a berth on day two of competition. The Gymbacks once again rose to the occasion in the regional final and posted a floor score of 49.400 to rewrite history in back-to-back competitions. The Hogs also posted a fourth-best rushing score in the SEC Championship program of 49.225.
